Brand X
BRAND X are recognized as true musical pioneers, one of the premiere Jazz-Rock-Fusion bands of all time. Original founders John Goodsall (Guitars) and Percy Jones (Bass) have reunited to the thrill of fans worldwide, and have been heralded by many critics calling this “The best Brand X ever!” Aside from Goodsall & Jones, Chris Clark (Keyboards), Kenny Grohowski (Drums) and Scott Weinberger (Percussion) round out the band.
Along with Drummer Phil Collins (Genesis), Goodsall and Jones created an entire musical genre which influenced a broad spectrum of bands and musicians -- from Phish to Dream Theatre and now a new generation of Jam Bands are re-discovering Brand X. Unrivaled in their creativity, originality and approach, Brand X’s contemporaries include Weather Report, Headhunters, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jaco Pastorius and Chick Corea, all crafting a unique blend of Progressive Rock fused with Jazz. That said, above all of them, BRAND X refuses to be boxed in. They still draw fans from the Funk, Rock, Jam and and Jazz communities across the board.
Percy Jones -- considered one of the top innovators of the fretless Bass -- and guitarist John Goodsall back the belief that this is the best lineups they’ve ever had. That’s saying a lot from a band with former members who’ve played with Genesis, XTC, Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney, Jaco Pastorius, Pat Martino, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Joel, etc… The Reunion Tour focuses on material from the first six albums: Unorthodox Behavior, Moroccan Roll, Livestock, Masques, Product and Do They Hurt?
NEW LIVE ALBUM: “But Wait… There’s More!” is our new double live CD out now. PROG Magazine’s Sid Smith calls this “Some of the hottest instrumental music you’ll hear this year”. The Huffington Post and Progression Magazine have also heralded highly enthusiastic reviews of the new CD.
But one of our favorite moments came at the Sound Board directly after a recent show from a fan who said: “Holy crap – I’ve been playing drums for 30 years, but after seeing that guy tonight (Drummer Kenny Grohowski) I’m going home to burn my kit right now!”
We’re just hoping he doesn’t send us the bill…
