There are few artists whose names are synonymous with one instrument and how it's played in service to an entire genre. Utter the phrase "young blues rock guitarist" within earshot of anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the modern musical vanguard and the first name they are most likely to respond with will be Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The Louisiana born axeman has sold millions of albums while throwing singles into the Top 10, shining a light on the rich blues of the past and forging ahead with his own modern twist on a classic sound he has embodied since his teens.
In a 20+ year recording career that began when he was just 16, Shepherd has established himself as an immensely popular recording artist. From television performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (amongst others) to features in Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Maxim Magazine, Blender, Spin, USA Today and more, his career has been nothing short of phenomenal.
At 16 years old, he signed his first record deal and burst onto the national scene with the release of his 1995 debut album Ledbetter Heights, which produced the radio hits "Deja Voodoo," "Born with a Broken Heart" and "Shame, Shame, Shame." His relentless touring and success on radio drove the album to Platinum sales. His 1998 sophomore effort Trouble Is… also went Platinum, yielding radio hits "Blue on Black," "True Lies" and "Somehow, Somewhere, Someway."1999's Live On spawned the radio hits "In 2 Deep", "Shotgun Blues" and "Last Goodbye." 2004's The Place You're In was a blistering rock record and was followed up by 2007's 10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads dvd documentary and soundtrack for which Shepherd and his band traveled throughout the American South and midwest to record with such vintage blues greats as B.B. King, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Hubert Sumlin, Pinetop Perkins and David "Honeyboy" Edwards on their home turf.
2010 saw the release of Shepherd's long-awaited first live album, Live! In Chicago, featuring guest appearances by such blues legends as Hubert Sumlin, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith and Bryan Lee. The live disc debuted at #1 on Billboard's Blues chart, as did 2011's How I Go. In 2013. Shepherd further expanded his musical horizons by teaming with veteran rockers Stephen Stills and Barry Goldberg to form THE RIDES, resulting in two critically acclaimed albums, Can't Get Enough and Pierced Arrow
2014 saw the release of Goin’ Home, Shepherd’s seventh # 1 debut on the Billboard Blues charts. Goin’ Home features fellow guitar icons Joe Walsh, Warren Haynes, Keb' Mo' and Robert Randolph, longtime friend Ringo Starr, Fabulous Thunderbirds frontman Kim Wilson, the Rebirth Brass Band and co-producer Blade's father, Pastor Brady Blade Sr.
August 4, 2017 was the release date of the latest KWSB studio album, Lay It On Down. Debuting at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart, #1 on the Rock Chart, #1 on the Internet Chart and #5 on the over-all Top 200 Current Album Chart, this album features all new material written by Kenny and several of his friends and co-produced by Marshall Altman, Lay It On Down hasspent seven weeks at the top of the Blues chart.

Shawn Jones is the epitome of American Roots/Rock music. He has proven over time that he has an international appeal. Shawn is true to form of his influences, spanning from all the greats in Rock, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz & Country. His father raised him on Hank Williams, and he grew up in the heartland of Southern California, where he learned from experience how to play and sing the blues. Shawn has been touring in excess of 200 dates a year, creating new fans and followers literally everywhere he performs.
Shawn’s latest CD, "Struggle Makes You Stronger" was picked up by Right Track Distribution, licensed through the Universal Group in the UK. Shawn’s single, “Life Is For The Living,” was released in the UK on February 11th and was a featured single on iTunes UK. The album was released on Feb. 25th, 2013. Jones will be embarking on his 15th tour to the UK in 2013. Shawn will be touring internationally appearing on radio, and performing at festivals and clubs. The album has already picked up several four and five star reviews in the US, UK, EU, AU with many others arriving. A double-page-spread has been secured with Maverick Magazine (March 2013) and Blues Matters Magazine (April 2013) in the UK. Shawn’s music has aired numerous times on the BBC UK, BBC Northern Ireland, and many other syndicated stations throughout the UK and EU.
With four studio albums and one live album under his belt, Shawn’s skills as a seasoned songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist have put him on the same bill with the likes of BB King, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan, Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Derek Trucks, Little Feat, Taj Mahal, John Mayall, Coco Montoya, Johnny Winter, Jim Lauderdale, John Haitt, David Lindley, and many others. Waylon Jennings was also so impressed with Shawn’s live performance that he took Jones under his wing, offering him a management deal and the grand opportunity to play on his 1996 release "Right For The Time." Two of his songs, “Long Way Down” and “Lightening Strike Me Down” are featured in the movie. The single “Long Way Down” was also included on the RCA/Victor soundtrack album.
