he Apes like playing rock and roll and having fun. More importantly, they make sure their audience has fun, too. The members of the Apes have over 100 years of combined musical and club experience bringing the joy of rock and roll to the people. Playing classic rock from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, along with contemporary favorites, the band keeps the crowd dancing through the night.
The Apes plays everything from classic rock hits (The Beatles, Tom Petty, AC/DC, PatvBenatar) to contemporary classics (Green Day, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars). Along with the tried and true crowd pleasers, they also mix in some hits that are not commonly played by other bands. The Apes love when the audience participates and include several songs in their list that allow for the crowd to sing along, make some noise, and play maracas that we hand out to them.
Hailing from the Livermore Valley and Pleasant Hill, the Apes consist of Craig Lyons on vocals and guitar, Steve Chapman on guitar and vocals, Charlotte Stephens on vocals and keyboards, Mike Stephens on drums, and Mark Csicsery on bass. With three different lead vocalists, and one of them being female, the Apes are able to play a variety of styles.
Whether they’re playing rock staples, contemporary hits, or bringing out closet classics, the Apes will have the crowd proclaiming “Four thumbs up!”
