The Highwayman Show
Performing the music of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson
"The Highwayman Show" pays heartfelt and powerful tribute to the timeless music of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson. Tony Suraci, “The Highwayman,” is a gifted and soulfuĊ vocalist who channels the spirits of all four voices in an exhilarating performance backed by an all-star band and also featuring Makayla Phillips from America’s Got Talent & American Idol. Together they capture the essence of the mid-70s outlaw country era. From the best Patsy Cline/Janis Joplin/June Carter duets to the signature trumpets of Ring Of Fire, the show delivers the crowd-pleasing classics like Me and Bobby McGee, On The Road Again, Good Ole Boys, and Folsom Prison Blues -- with the excitement of an encore from start to finish!
Jolene’s what they call a unicorn - a rare breed of singer-songwriter raised by Music CIty.
And by two musical parents who have worked with Johnny, Willie, & Emmylou. Her dad, celebrated sound engineer and songwriter Donivan Cowart, worked with Dolly. Her name was going to be Wendy.
A studio mouse from the time she was born, she soaked in the influences of Emmylou, Lari White, and Lee Ann Womack. She listened to Roseanne Cash records being mixed and Rodney Crowell songs as they were written, teaching her the power of sharing our stories through music; the empathy, healing, and beauty a song holds.
And as she grew up and started collecting records by Sheryl Crow, the Chicks, and Fiona Apple, her blend of roots Americana, folk, & 90s rocker chick developed into her sound and a storied life, her coal mine.
Recently off the road with her adopted "Uncle" Rodney Crowell, Jolene is currently touring to promote her EP due out soon featuring the song "Bloom" written with Grammy award winner Melody Walker produced by Dan Knobler.
